It’s nitpicky, but honestly I think the location of search bars in apple-made applications is actually well-thought-out. They’re universally overtop of the thing being filtered. In maps, it’s in the sidebar because that’s where the results list is. In finder, it’s above the files itself, it will search in that directory first and I think the location echos that default. In notes it’s above the note and the notes list, which share a common background colour. It searches within the currently selected notes server in the far-left sidebar. The tool bar is also configurable in most of these. So you can move it anywhere, but the defaults make sense IMO. |
