I believe it's more like * Suse releases a new distro, Purple Weed, rebased last public code of RHEL. * With some reverse engineering effort or whatever, they provide migration path from RHEL to Suse Purple Weed ™. - for next few releases of RHEL. * They expect customers to migrate to Suse Purple Weed ™ from RHEL (or clones), within a few versions. Instead of RHELs proprietary-ish branch, they want their branch to take over and become defacto standard. I guess. |
