My wife needed more storage, so we got the family iCloud+ subscription. When it came time for me to set up my work laptop, I made a separate account, but added it to my family. That way I can use my purchased apps and subscriptions on my work machine.

Not a perfect solution, but works pretty well for me.

This! If you really want to have access to some of your personal stuff, setup a family account and only share what you want with the account (music/subs etc).
