About nine years ago, Lee Hutchinson (Ars Technica) wrote an article[0] that has since become Canon, and is appropriated by everyone and their uncle. In it, he describes "The Dunning-Kruger Peak," followed almost immediately by "The Jon Snow Trough." After these extremes, our confidence and self-appraisal starts to linearize. I cannot say enough about being on teams with experienced engineers, and writing stuff that actually ships (as opposed to disappearing into an "Out" box, and we never see what happens to it). WFM.
