I do wonder why threads wasn't just included in the Instagram app. Part of the reason why Instagram reels have become so popular is probably because it's right there in the middle of the Instagram app. I could see if it's to avoid bloating 1 app but from the messaging it seems that your threads identity is going to be closely linked to your Instagram account anyway? I feel less motivated to install a new app, create a new profile, decorate it and start following people (once again). |

May be because they are trying to create a separate identity and attract twitter crowd which may or may not like IG much. No one likes IG much these days tbh. Just using IG to logging in is an entirely different matter, people are used to logging in using different service providers like google, facebook etc.
