No worries. Harsh feedback is the best feedback because it's the most genuine.
I think one of the issues with the search bar, when I posted the link here, was that it was assuming the user inserted some text in lowercase - which is of course a wrong assumption.
On top of that, the search bar currently only searches through the rings [1] which is a very limited list. Of course the search bar will improve over time, but there isn't much to search now :)
The page I land on needs to make it immediately clear why the site is useful. No explanations or hand waving.
