Really interesting reading both sides of this argument, but I do see something missing from the entire conversation (unless someone snuck it in and I missed it): Independent from the side you take on this, this decision was made by the judicial branch in the context of (hopefully) the constitution. If you disagree with the decision, there's a process (albeit a long one (on purpose)) to change our system, but that process resides in the legislative body, not the judiciary. I encourage folks from both sides of the argument to keep that in mind. |
