This follows a general trend of roads becoming unsafer since COVID. Traffic Fatalities in CA: 2019 -> 2020: +3.4% 2020 -> 2021: +7.6% Unclear about 2021 -> 2022, I'd have to run the SWITRS data myself. Keep in mind these are just fatalities.
