OpenSuse LEAP is 100% binary compatible with SLES. You can build an entire dev environment with LEAP, clone it and run a script to make it SLES. Ubuntu is pushing snaps to hard IMHO. Suse is moving towards immutable OS with flatpacks, but doing so in a much more responsible manner that is not trying to lock down the ecosystem. |
