What if you're on the go and only have a phone available? I reckon this is intended for quick experiments, not in depth debugging.

Yeah that makes the most sense to me. I could see a full blown desktop style inspector being useful on a 11”+ tablet (which is really just a laptop sans keyboard) but it’d be too frustrating for extended usage on anything smaller.
