Had a near miss today with a cyclist who was covered by the giant windshield pillars

I lived in Europe for a few years and was really struck by the focus on protecting pedestrians rather than drivers

Entire compact cars can be obscured by the a pillar in my 2018 vehicle. Textbook case of unintended consequences.
