This seems particularly relevant for work - if you work with reasonable people, that don’t expect you to deliver 2 weeks of work in one.

As for personal commitments (or “yes”) find it easier to say “let me think on it” or “that’s a great idea. Let me get back to you.”

Life is busy and it’s hard to commit in the moment anyway amongst whatever your existing commitments are.

Which is by far not the norm with managers I've had.
