I wasn't aware that was a normal stage of development - we've always had the opposite problem, of people bombarding so much feedback that we had to spend a ton of time sorting it out to truly derive the best direction.

What were the reasons behind it being difficult to get feedback?

Interesting. Thanks for your reply. How did you get these many users in the start? I was thinking more about user interviews for product direction feedback, Experience testing or competitive analysis.
