I like my flip phone in that it has basically what I need. I love having a pocket watch with timer at all times. The notes thing is great for remembering people's names by writing them down. I'm less likely to text something I'll regret because it is so hard to text. It truely is a dumb phone even though it has a browser because they didn't debounce most of the switches. The camera is pretty good too. The google app always takes a picture when I open it. |

Heh. I picked up a feature phone about 8 years ago and used it a lot. At first, I thought that the only way to enter text was one letter at a time, multiple keypresses, you know, 4-4-4, 7-7, 3-3-3, etc.
And then I discovered T9 input mode, and I was off to the races. I got in an SMS-argument with a colleague and I was sending multi-line rants thanks to T9. I was soon sorry that I ever figured that out.
The feature phone was really nice, though; it ran KaiOS, and it was theoretically integrated with Google services, such as Calendar, Contacts, and Gmail. The integration was extraordinarily poor, though, especially once MFA was enabled on the account, and I quit using the integrations, which was especially painful with a Calendar which was now blank and never reminded me of anything while I was out and about.
The web browser was super and I loved the ability to just go on the web and see a page. That is the point where I discovered weather.gov is the best weather forecast site ever, because that was the only site that worked with the mobile browser without spamming ads all over the page.
