Honestly, the article sounds pretty good for warehouse work. About 12 years ago I was working in a warehouse at -25 C slogging sides of beef at 25 to 50 Kg for at least 10 hours, my record shift was 26 hours. The pay was even less, $10/hr. It had to be -25 in the freezer because there was ice cream in there too and if it didn't leave at -25 it would melt by the time it got to the destination. The only odd thing about the job was the look I got like I was crazy when I left to work tech support in the city for a dollar an hour less. |
