I recently launched my own iOS app and I too struggle with marketing or any sort of self promotion.

From my own experience, I had the most success here via Show HN from which I saw around 300 downloads that day which was just mind blowing to me.

I launched on ProductHunt also, and posted about it over on LinkedIn. Both managed to attract some users because my app was aimed at the tech community. Neither of those were anywhere near the traffic I saw after posting on HN though.

That’s great to know. I’m more of a lurker on every social media site so I’ll have to break out of my habits during these launch periods.
