I'm astonished they don't just require 3rd party apps to use an API key from reddit gold users. The only thing worse than the reddit app is how much the company is trying to ram it down users' throats. Standard freemium model: make the user experience so painful they'll gladly pay you to opt out of the pain. |

But I guess if not now, it will happen eventually. When Tencent owns a majority, or when reddit restaffs mods, or gives subs over to companies, or keeps making millions of people see condescending patronizing Jesus ads from an openly homophobic organization (oh wait that's already happening...).
