How is it the same workflow? Let's say today, there's r/widgets and their rules are no memes, no politics, no nsfw, etc. Most of the users understand the rules and keep it on topic. Now and then moderators have to delete off topic posts or ban users, etc. You want a fire hose of widgets, widget memes, widget gone wild, erotic widget fan fiction, widget remix videos, widget music, widget swapping, widget swapping in the greater boston area, nsfw widget swapping, ask widget, widget jokes, hold my widget, midget widget porn, gidget widget porn, etc all lumped together. Instead of maybe 100 posts a day with 10% off topic, there are a thousand posts a day and 90% are off topic (for any given moderator's interests). Instead of deleting the relatively rare bad stuff, you have to pick out the relatively rare good stuff. |
