DevOps was supposed to be about accelerating the software development lifecycle. In my current role as a "DevOps Engineer", a significant portion of my time is spent being a roadblock. This is mostly due to misaligned incentives and incompetent management. It's debilitating for both the devs and myself. If platform engineering can fix it, fine, but I'm not holding my breath. |
