I can't say that I agree with Musk on much, but the DMCA is a plague on humanity. Especially with systems like YouTube's, which auto flags copyrighted content in videos with no consideration for if that content falls under fair use. The DMCA desperately needs revision, and I doubt we're ever going to see it, because anyone advocating for it is going to be portrayed as hating creators rather than hating badly written laws.

In the ISP world, copyright complaints are even more of a nightmare than social media, I feel like. Corporations will demand that the piracy is stopped, and there's no way to do that without strict monitoring and blocking of user traffic. Which is extremely intrusive from an ISP perspective, and goes against what you're supposed to be providing. At least with social media, the user is voluntarily making that activity publicly visible.
