This: <<the way deferred compensation is structured>> A tiny fraction of the industry qualifies for "deferred compensation". I guess about 1-2%. It is wildly overstated in the media. A huge number of people work their entire career on Wall Street as software developers and are 100% cash comp. Even if "deferred comp", it is RSUs, not cash. And the RSUs are no strings attached -- no clawback -- because the average Joe Blow has no chance to commit any real financial crime from their seat. |
