Even if they're all "old" pennies with $0.02 worth of Copper, you can't legally melt them down. This means they're still just worth a cent, and like turtleyacht pointed out, that's only worth $10,000. Nobody is going to pay 2.5x times the price for some really old pennies found in a random basement. Especially since that's around 5,500 lbs of coins to move!

And nobody will beleive that they haven't been inspected for "rare" pennies. (Also, most rare pennies are only worth something if uncirculated or in very good condition.)

Someone may pay _slightly_ over face value for the bank bags that are still sealed.
