I've met many, many incredibly successful, intelligent, disciplined, kind, impressive people with incredibly serious addiction issues. 10s-100s of millions in net worth. These aren't lazy people. Recovery does take an immense amount of hard work and discipline, albeit in a very different way than, say, reading legal briefs, writing code, performing surgery. |
