Ask HN: Is Anyone Else Having Indexing Issues with Google Search Console?
2 points by nsesites 1109 days ago
Hi all - I'm having issues getting my site (http://twkids.app) Indexed onto Google Search Console. I've submitted my Sitemaps over a month ago & also have all the same URL's as Internal Links from my homepage. However, not a single one of my Sitemap URL's has been indexed. It just says "Discovered - but not currently Indexed" & status is "Started", but no other explanation.

The Google Crawler automatically indexes some pages but it's been quite slow. And the Inspect URL works, but it's very manual & there's a daily limit (I have around ~60k pages to index).

Is anyone else having Indexing Issues and know how I can resolve this? Any advice would be very helpful!

Yes, I have experienced the same. It takes a long while (several days) after submitting sitemap for the pages to actually get indexed. Even after it starts indexing, it will do few pages per day (few usually is < 10).

It helps if you have a back link to kickstart things. Even then if some of your internal pages are not easily reachable from the home page, those page will not get indexed soon enough.

Ugh thats unfortunate. Heard it used to be a week to get thousands of pages indexed. At this rate it will take forever (60k pages). Maybe due to all the auto generated AI pages flooding in, Google is trying to slow things down?

Do you know if static pages (.html) would get indexed faster? Thinking of converting all my pages to static to see if any improvement.

I don't think it's going to be any different. I guess if the page response time is fast it helps with your overall SEO but I don't think it will have impact as far as indexing is concerned. Probably your guess is right that this might be Google's way of handling AI generated content.
