I know we don't know for sure but it there is evidence to suggest orcas may have equal or better emotional processing than humans. In Blackfish one of the most interesting attacks was against a trainer, Ken Peters, who was also a trained diver. The orca seemed to know the limits of the trainer and how long she could keep him underwater. When she brought him up she gave him time to breathe and compose himself before dunking him under again.
