Tablets may not have replaced TVs but tablets altered the trajectory for TV and TV watching hugely. I do not believe TV manufacturers expected to be solely the agents of large displays, They thought 3D was going to be a licence to print money. I bet TV makers really did not enjoy learning that even android TV was by now really just another view of somebody else's revenue stream and just costs for them: keep up with the pace of CVE and upgrade or .. they just use their tablet. |
