One interesting thing about the South Pole is that its elevation above sea level is roughly 3000m / 9000': * https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Pole So things like cooking can be challenging because the boiling point of water is much lower than 100C. Also I've heard of issues with computer/electronics equipment working differently (because of less/thinner air moving through fans). |
