I don't have to imagine this. My brain is doing sensor fusion every moment of every day. A lot of the time that involves conflicting data, and your brain has to decide on the most reasonable interpretation. When it's not at its best you get things like optical illusions, nausea, etc. It's a hard problem to solve, but that doesn't mean it's a bad idea. I think most people would agree that human beings are better off with the overlapping set of sensors that are available to us compared to the alternative. |
