I get these aren't the cool new things, but the thing is that cool new things come and go all the time. Boring and technologically conservative things have sticking power. A good yard-stick for how long a technology can be expected to stay around is as long as it's already been around. A 50 year old programming language? Yeah it's probably around in 50 years. Last year's hot new js framework? Probably dead in a year. |
