Wikipedia had a similar situation with a single flower image being requested so many times.
I can't find the story and don't remember it well, but I think it was a big indian company using this image to check if internet was available. IMHO, one of the problems is that many dev. don't realize both the size of their company and the impact of so many requests. I hop you'll find a solution, and thank you for your service! PS: maybe you should create a dedicated post about this subject to attract visibility |
