Flipping the bit to default on for biking to work at my last job was such a huge change, won mostly by a couple months nudges. There's a general interest of mine in of trying to make effective habits. Questioning what's about & inquiring, what would be a good choice here, & trying to make it happen. Making this a broad pattern we apply regularly, with habit, across situations. A positive outlook isn't about discipline: that's a negative framing of the effort. The positive take is doing good things, that lead to better conditions latter. |

Congrats on achieving the change! I like your framing of the positive take, as I too definitely believe we accomplish things by taking small steps in the right direction.
I also get where you're coming from with regards to discipline; I hadn't thought of it that way yet, as it being something that "forces" us to do something we actually don't want to be doing. I also think you can approach it from a positive side though, as being a kind of "habit" that you have built through intentional, hard work.
