I'd say overall mostly yes. I had a few main goals when I started journaling late last year: 1. Help me better understand my feelings and where they come from 2. Help me plan things in my life at a higher level, so I'm not just living day to day. I find that writing generally helps me think more logically. 3. Make it possible for me to reflect back to almost any given day and understand what happened that day. Prior to journaling I'd get the feeling that days, weeks and even months and years could sometimes be a huge blur. For me I've been able to mostly accomplish these goals. I'm still having trouble with consistency, but I'm working on it. I like building things so to keep me motivated, I built my own app (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/a-journal-a-day/id1659288235). Doing so has somewhat helped me stay motivated and write. |
