What it proven to be dangerous for people? It caused ecological problems, but direct harm for people was suggested, not proven as far as I know.

It lasts in water for 150 years. It kills everything, causes eggshell thining (birds, fish, etc).

It is fat soluble and accumulates through the food chain.
