Ehhhh, much like children it really depends on the dog. I have a counter surfer at home, and we tried the negative reinforcement, time-outs, loud noises ect, and all it did was give her food aggression where she never had any before. Training leave it and removing opportunities for her to steal worked out way better long term. Now if she finds a chicken bone or something on a walk I can just take it from her when before when she’d do her damndest to hide it. |

Yea, that's what we did to, but I don't really consider that training the dog not to jump on the counter.
