Some people have to undergo a lengthy doctor-administered screening process to receive an ADHD diagnosis. Others fill out a straightforward questionnaire. To use your example, you'd hope that a doctor would verify that a patient actually had something wrong with them before, say, prescribing them something addictive like painkillers. |
