So you'd have had more faith in the CEO if he had conjured a lot of smoke and mirrors to explain that nothing systemic was happening to their business and that there is nothing to worry about going forward?

Selling is likely to be the right move, but blaming the CEO?! There is literally nothing he can do in the near term to avoid losing users to ChatGPT-like services. Their business is likely doomed if they don't already have a rabbit in their hat.
