Interesting argument. Personally, for all the stuff I do, Linux is far superior. Give me Emacs, R and LaTeX working out of the box and available in easy downloads with no spaces in my paths, and I'm happy. I can understand that others may have different perspectives. That being said, has he tried Emacs? As far as I know with GDB and gcc and flymake, pretty much everything he wants to do is available. |
