IMO, the disrespectful part is they want to get rid of human workers and tell them in their faces that they just want to help their workers by making their tasks easier
I agree messaging to workers about this kind of thing is always disrespectful (like telling them it will free up their time for more important things). But I also think it's disrespectful to keep someone employed at a task that could be easily automated. That said, I don't think customer service is easily automated. It's more attempts to train the customer to accept being treated like shit.
