ai isn't imitating the source, it's working on copies. you need rights to use a photo of someone. why should it be different for their voice?

Already decided in court to an extent, Bette Midler won against Ford when they used an inpersonator to sing in an ad she refused to do. Voice itself is still uncopyrightable, but use of it can be considered impersonation.
