If we couldn't for some reason, that would mean that the AI was, without being prompted by a human, actively suppressing the people's attempts to act in their own self interest (by collectively deciding not to listen to the AI anymore). I suppose it's possible that an AI would do that, but it's certain that humans do that. So in this case I'd rather gamble on the devil I don't know. |
