Sure it might be better to avoid milled grains, but if you do, (the vast vast majority of people don't avoid them) they should be whole or brown. What's more, if you're talking ancestral diet, it should certainly includes grains like wild rice, whole barley, rough milled wheat, farro, and quinoa. |

Most of human evolutionary history was hunter-gatherer times, and they were not eating wheat. Farming is a relatively recent invention.
