We have the capacity to take care of everyone right now but we don't because private wealth realized that comfortable people creates an equal society and equality means there's no way to be a mogul where everyone has to listen to you. This is in part why they destroyed the middle class, things got too crazy for them in the 1960s and they counter attacked. This is very not the case. Wealth is created. It doesn't exist just somewhere to be redistributed. Making the assumption that you will have the same GDP if you redistribute massively is unrealistic.
