Given that the author points out Vimeo as being the worst offender in their sample, I wonder if having a lot of dark patterns is a signal that the core value proposition of the business isn't strong enough to stand alone. 2nd thought is that every dark pattern that makes it harder to cancel or easier to sign up is a bullet point on a resume of a growth hacker somewhere. |
