I agree, but it's a consequence of post 9/11 politics, Islamic culture is haram in the current American mainstream, even 20 years later. It was already fringe for the Black liberation movements, 9/11 just killed it completely. Even re-releasing The Fifth Element would trigger this, I think. Or The Exorcist, with the first sound being a muezzin blaring Allahu Akbar. |
