I think this a mind trick that people play on themselves. Tell yourself that all humans (or group of humans that one is a part of) are bad. Then, conclude that you are not part of the group (and therefore good) since you've made this observation.

I suspect that the person you trolled with that tedious gotcha question declined to respond more out of boredom than because they were "stumped".
I think it is a very relevant question for anyone with anti-human leanings. This person clearly stated this in their original comment ("I'm not a fan of humans").
