Half of the probability mass is below the average in a normal distribution so, yeah, it makes sense for the average to sit at a nonzero and nonunit number. The fact that it's a nice and neat number like 100 is interesting. That's about one box of bananas. Maybe someday the banana industry will address your concerns by making the fruit more radioactive. |
