There are a lot of jurisdictions where piped natural gas is not available and 200 amp service is very common, as a practical matter it is not a big deal. Requiring new builds to have even more electrical capacity and more robust incoming infrastructure is a win-win-win situation and hopefully that is what code & consumers demand. |
