No, it's way, way older. As in "Hapsburg portraits" and "Ming Dynasty scrolls" old. And let's not forget the last time a technology came around that could "fool history"; how many people still believe the moon landing was shot on a sound stage? The notion that historians only care about images, without caring about their provenance, is absurd. |
