There will be 1% of apps that do something that HN crowd will perhaps care about. The rest will be apps that try to circumvent privacy and security, and/or chase their own goal. That lightning cable on iOS is stupid, it only benefits Apple.
Both changes are more than welcome, although I don't use iPhones (precisely for this reasons - closed ecosystem, lighting)
