Then what about everyone else trying to get in through the Mexican border? "Now, folks like the guy in this story are not “refugees” by the technical definition; . They’re either asylum-seekers, which is a technically different thing, or they’re people who just try to move to escape a bad situation back home. But to me this is a distinction without a difference; " So can be said for a lot of people wanting to come to the U.S. to make a living. Personally making immigration affordable and efficient to meet the demand is a possible direction we could go (I think it would reduce harm) but that isn't the one we've gone down so far. |
